What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a statutorily regulated primary healthcare profession, which focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body: for the body to work well, its structure must also work well.
Osteopathy recognises the body’s inherent capacity to heal and that the well-being of an individual depends on the different parts of the body functioning smoothly together.

What do ostepaths do?

Osteopaths' patient-centred approach to health and well-being means they  consider symptoms in the context of the patient's full medical history, as well as their lifestyle and personal circumstances. This holistic approach ensures that all treatment is tailored to the individual patient.

Osteopaths utilise manual stretching, massage and mobilising techniques which help restore function to the body and help to facilitate the healing process. These techniques are often supplemented with advice regarding posture, lifestyle and stretches so that you may receive the maximum potential benefit and make a quick recovery.
